[Heathkit] Need Help with DX-60 XMTR

Hi All;
A few years back, I inherited an Early DX-60 from a friend.
He said it worked "FB OM" but after I fired it up here is wat I find.
It loads up real well with correct out put. I do this with the meter switch 
in the Plate position.
Why? Because in the GRID position the meter goes negative against the pin 
whenever I I place the Function switch in either "Tune, AM or CW" positions!
I do not like doing this without first knowing what the Grid Drive is. I only 
did it to see if there actually was output, there is:-)
I suspect it is not a major repair but I have no Diagnostic skills and am not 
a tech.
So, I would appreciate if anyone can lead me in the right direction so I can 
possibly repair this myself.
