I'm sorry to hear about your VFO casualty. My HG-10 drum has cracks at
the edges, but so far its holding together.
There was someone on the list who was planning to make reproduction
drums out of plastic "tailpiece" sink drain pipe. Check the archives. He
was looking to borrow a drum, even a damaged one, presumably to
photocopy. Don't throw away the pieces, yet. It may be possible to
photocopy or scan the scales, make a transparency and wrap it around the
plastic tailpiece, and make an acceptable reproduction.
