[Heathkit] AT-1 Xmtr Help...Again

I've finished my rebuilding the AT-1, but I have a couple more questions.  
(Maybe I should buy the manual.)

1)  On 80, the drive cap does not function.  Plate dips fine.  Looking at the 
schematic, it appears the tank between the 6AG7 and 6L6 is switched 
completely out of the circuit.  Must be normal?
2)  80 xtal works on 40 with good drive and dip.  Doubler in action?
3)  40 meter fundamental xtals don't appear to work on 40.  Very low drive 
(almost nothing) and shallow plate dip.  What's up with that?
4)  40 meter xtals work on 20 with good drive and dip.

I'm getting about 10 watts out into a dummy load.
