[Heathkit] RF freq generator

Ran into a snag today in the process of restoring my old Heathkit LG-1
(same as IG-42) regarding the 6AV5 AMP tube. Schematic and manual only
mention 6AV5 but the available tubes are the 6AV5GT and the 6AV5GA.
What came with the LG-1 and the IG-42? Was there ever
just a 6AV5? Can't find it after 1952 tube book but don't have
anything earlier.

I have a "GA" so will try it but want your input on this. Could not
find anything on it in the famous Tube Lore book. Looks like the "GA"
is more recent and the "GT" the oldest but they are listed as
incompatable in a substitution book. In it's use as a RF amplifier, I
see no reason not to use either one. Voltages are ok which ever one I
use. The "GA" has higher transconductance.

Let me hear your thoughts.
