[Heathkit] Some HW-16 thoughts

I love these old rigs. At times I've had 4 in shack.On some of the ones
that are a lil rough I make some changes.

Since 15 mtrs is rarely open I do the Aug? 1975 QST (by a G3 stn)mod
changing 15 to 20 meters.

On one that I struggled to get enuf audio gain, I added a phono jack &
SPDT mini switch on rear panal, to switch the input from V1 (COAX) to
panel switch and use an outboard rcvr (This is after the pin-diode has
swiched to rcve) and now I have gud xmit wid QSK and super rcve wid gain
from outboard rcvr.

On another HW-16 I mounted a 1/4" phono jack in lower right corner of
front panel to have headphones jack on front panel. You purist guys may
not want to drill hole in front panel but if its a poor/junker etc you
might try this.
