The Heath SB "twins" series could receive AM but not
transmit AM!  The same with the later Hallicrafters
equipment (i.e. the SX-146 and HT-46).  You mentioned
the Heath SB-300 / SB-400 line and under the
definition of having all modes matching, they do not
fit the definition!

Later equipment usually had receivers that could
receive AM but could only transmit SSB and CW.

I think that the "nits" are really being picked on
this subject!
