The Marauder uses the same panel layout as the Apache.
The only difference between the Apache and Marauder
versus the Mohawk is that the Mohawk has one
additional control on the upper right-hand side. In
fact, there have been a number of Apaches that have
panels that were drilled for the Mohawk that were
silk-screened for the Apache. Those got "hole plugs"
in the extra hole!

I read somewhere (maybe some Heath history) that the
Mohawk was designed first. Then the pitch to the
engineers was to design a transmitter (the Apache)
that was similar in styling and size(would fit in the
same cabinet) as the Mohawk. The further requirement
was to keep as many of the controls in relatively the
same position on the front panel. Hence, the elaborate
sets of mechanical gears, lever arms, and pulleys that
you find behind the front panel of the Apache.
