Buy a kit at the inflated "virgin" kit price and watch its value plummet
at the finish of the first solder connection. No "feel-good" kit building
exercise is worth that kind of loss. Almost looks like some of my stock
investments. A simpler and cheaper method is to buy some Heath stuff at
a flea market, strip it all down; clean all the hardware, throw all the
parts in a box, seal the box, and then come back at some future time and
build the kit. Of course, you might consider it an investment for your
kids or grandkids ,and hope that 50 years for now it might be worth more
than what you paid for it.
