Ihad the same problem here and the only I could do to get better input and
output on ten was to change the input circuitry.
I put a mini variable cap on place of the mica cap and tuned the cap and the
coil to get maximum input and output power, after, I changed the variable cap by
a fixed one of same value.
It was not so simple, but it worked quite ok.
The problem here is that I had not mica caps when I did the change and, after
some years I have now to do it again because the caps certainly varied with HF
and age.
I improved also the 15 meter band doing the same.On the other bands I have no
problem.
