[Heathkit] hx-10 question

Many thanks to those who wrote with suggestions regarding the intermittent carrier and heterodyne oscillator functions on my Marauder project. Getting great, consistent output now, after finding a mess of cold soldered, and non soldered connections.

The new issue seems to be inability to null the carrier properly. Wiring around the trimmer and pot that control this checks out, and components in the circuit are in range. There is reduction of the carrier, but it can not be nulled out. Any bright ideas?
