Hello,
All the recent talk about AT-1s has got me interested in firing up mine.
Trouble is I only have one crystal and it's way up in the old Novice band on
40 meters where nobody hangs out. I'd like to buy a handful of Xtals down
lower in the band (say 7025-7050) as well as some in the lower part of the
80M CW band (3525-3550 or so). Does anyone have a bunch of old Xtals that
they would be willing to part with, or is there anyone out there still
selling such items? I looked around on the web but every URL I found for
Xtals seemed to be no longer working.
The AT-1 I have is one that I bought from a guy about 15 years ago and I've
never used it. But it looks nice and pretty sitting on the shelf and I
enjoy looking at it. The AT-1 is the rig I started out with as a Novice in
1957 and I traded mine in on a Viking Ranger kit the next year. Wish I
hadn't but 15 year old kids in those days didn't have many resources and the
Ranger was quite an expenditure.
Is there anything I need to do before firing up an old tube rig that might
not have been turned on for 30+ years?
Thanks & 73,
Hal W1NN (ex KN8HVT)
