  Bill,

 The LMO tuning capacitor has a fork shaped spring contact that
provides a stable ground connection for the cap rotor, its located on the
rear end of the rotor shaft right in front of the rear bearing. cleaning
the
surfaces between this clip and the rotor shaft and increasing its
tension a bit by CAREFULLY and SLIGHTLY bending it
will more often than not correct this problem.
