My thanks to Arthur / VE3ZV, and all who replied with
suggestions on the lack of sensitivity of the GC-1000,
most accurate clock. The trouble was, after 15 years
of continuous operation, dried out electrolytics.
Just as an FYI, the rcvr sensitivity ran about .7 uv
and hears quite well. I found the 100~ was out
slightly, and aligned quite easily per the
instructions. The 1000~ was more difficult. Neither
the AM or capture led would come on during an internal
test or an external test at 15 MC with a 1 KC tone.
(it was verified as WWV and not WWVH) Finally, after
checking/changing everything possible a DVM & scope
was used, and the 1-KC filter was adjusted for a null
while watching the cpu IC. The led still didn't come
on, but once put on the air and seeing WWV it
recognized the signal and started working as it
should. Again, my thanks to everyone for their
replies and suggestions.
