There are several answers:

If you are an investor: You keep it exactly as it is and handle it with 
gloves, maybe keep it in a vault.

If you are a collector:         You probably keep it as-is, maybe make a 
Lucite box to display it, keep it away from the sun.

If you are a real ham:          You just gotta have the experience of 
building it, value really doesn't mean much to you.
