A darn handy computer cord to use for replacement is one provided by
IBM with (PC) computer equipment manufactured in the 1990's. These are
heavy duty, and have a special plug-with-socket combination on the
business end so that you don't lose an outlet when you plug in that new
old rig. I think Compaq had something similar, but these seem to be
harder (for me) to come across.
