[Heathkit] WTB: Mic connectors

This is something I have been doing a long time. I take a proper original
connector to mate to
the radio and wire it up on some shielded multi conductor cable. I use some
stuff from RS because
it is very flexible. On the opposite end of this "pig tail" 6" to maybe 2
feet depending on the
situation I wire on a 3 conductor stereo in line female connector.
Now you can take a single mike and wire it to mate with this and all the
other pig tails you made
for different radios using a 3 conductor stereo plug.
So you have a single mike or really as many as you want to use from time to
time that plug into
any or all of your female sockets.
The only thing you must follow is the audio, ptt and gnd on the male 3
conductor plug and inline
3 conductor female.
It is a lot simpler than it sounds and works very well (for me). If you need
to take a mike out
of service to give, sell, trade or whatever it is easy to install a proper
connector for any given
rig this way for the new user or leave it and let him do the same pig tail
adapter scheme.
This allows you to use the correct original connector on the rig without
modification but you can
use any mike you want to with the radio. Even with radios that do not have
PTT like the DX 100
all you do is lock the PTT on the mike to activate the audio line to the
element and your in switch
to talk business. GL es 73, Mike K0AZ

Subject: [Heathkit] WTB: Mic connectors
Hi all;
I am in need of a mic connector adaptor. I want to use a SB/HW mic (with
the 2-pin male plug) on a DX-100 (with the single-contact male plug on
the front panel). To do this I will need a 2-pin female, chassis-mount
connector (to mate with the mic) and a single-contact, cable type female
(to mate with the DX-100). Confused? I am. Does anyone have one or both
of these connectors they can part with? Thank you.
