The djvu format is terrific for its effective compression, I do not
understand why the market has been so resistant to its widespread
adaptation.

As for troubles under M$ products, why not upgrade to Linux, e.g. Red
Hat 9?  djvu works under most any OS, so why not use the best?  (BTW: 
M$ just had to acknowledge the worst-so-far security hole in their
latest product, one that also affects most of the older versions as
well.  One wonders why one of the richest men in the world cannot cause 
good code to be written.)
