I have used the HP23A power supply on my HW32. The trick is to match the
output of the HP23A with the 8 pin socket on the HW32.
Take a piece of paper and on the left side write the numbers 1 through 11 in
a column. On the right side write the numbers 1 through 8. On the left side
write down the output on each of the pins as listed on the 11 pin socket of
the HP23A. On the right side similarly write down the input requirements of
each of the 8 pins on the HW32. You can now make up an adapter with an 11
pin plug on one end and a 8 pin socket on the other by matching the inputs
and outputs.
