Unfortunately, although the copyright law until 1999
had a time limit of 75 years, the Bono Act of 1999
extended this to 95 years and was upheld last week by
the Supreme Court of the United States. Thus, for all
practical purposes, only those items created 1907 and
before are in public domain. Anything created 1908
and after are still under copyright and cannot be
reprinted, copied, etc., without the WRITTEN
permission of the copyright holder. Even on things
that were created and published by companies that are
no longer in existance, their assets, including
copyrighted material, have been assigned to someone.
Finding that "someone" may be extremely difficult!

The articles I have copied and put on our (Glowbugs)
web site are all tube-related, from handbooks, and are
at least 30 years old.
