Thanks, Don.  I figured that was the most likely possibility.  Rather than
hack away at it, I'll take the safe route and leave them the way they are.

The clock works surprisingly well.  It's in a first floor condo where WWV
signal strength is never very good, but it manages to be in "hi spec" mode
most of the time.
