The B-1 was rated at 200 watts AM phone which means
800 watts peak power (should take a KW SSB without any
problems). They could be wired for either 1:1 or 4:1
balanced:unbalanced (coax). Nominally used for
converting 300 ohm feed from a folded dipole to 75 ohm
coax (i.e. RG11/U or RG59/U) which was available from
military surplus at very cheap prices during the 1950s
and early 1960s. Coverage was 160 - 10 meters. Box
is fairly weatherproof, but should not be mounted
outside where subject to direct rain (i.e. put under
the eaves of the house, etc., but don't put on an
outside wall).
Other than that, never heard of one!

Does anyone on this list have information on the above
captioned Balun? I'm interested in a manual,
schematic, specifications, etc.
