Now on to the band switch. One of the contacts on the switch is

John, the best way is to replace the switch but you can replace the contact
too. Harbachelectronics.com had the switches in March. I replaced a switch
not too long ago and it is a major task to get it out. Either way, you need
to remove the switch and fix it first, its too tight to do it otherwise. A
friend of mine replaced a contact by using surplus contacts from an other
switch and replaced the rivets with a small bolt and nut. Make sure to
secure the nut somehow because once it is done, you don't want to do it
again.
