Believe it or not, WD-40 also works very well, however requires a 2 step
process to use it. WD-40, I have found, is safe on plastics. I've sprayed
WD-40 on a paper towel and cleaned the item. After the cleaning is done
then I would use isopropyl alcohol to clean off the WD-40. Hasn't failed
me yet.

I agree with the other gentleman, GOO-GONE is the best. Then clean the
face with a plastic cleaner or something that I use on all my classics
to beautify and clean the front panel knobs and all), PLEDGE
WOOD&GLASS.
Good luck.

Subject: [Heathkit] Tape on Meter face.
Hi,
Just got a model 1G-72 Heath Audio Generator that is in great shape
both
Electrically and Mechanically with one exception, there is old Scotch
or
Cellophane on the meter face.
I am at a loss as to how to get the tape off with out scratching or
using a
safe solvent or chemical will loosen the tape without damaging the
meter
face any further.
I would appreciate any idea's.
Thanks, jim heath/w8ngo
