Hi Gary,

Well, reporting further on the AT-1 meter rewind.
I counted 1675 or so turns unwinding the old so decided
to wind on 1750 since the #41 looked a bit smaller. Well,
bench test turned up only about 8 ma for 10 ma in.....so
wound on about 400 more turns (kinda tricky to splice!).
Right on the money.... 10 ma. Rig loads up nicely but believe
the plate shunt is off. When I play some more will tear back
into the little rig (yep, on the air already with a whopping
15 watts). My wire was on a small spool so just held the meter
coil form in the left hand, right index finger thru the wire spool and
wound it on. Friction of the finger was just enough to get a
decent tension. Took several hours on-and-off to get it done
but sure was fun. Worked under a lighted magnifier of course.
Believe this is something one does just ONCE.
BTW, I wired a little color-burst crystal to an FT-243 holder so
will be around the BA freq of 3.579.

Gentlemen; Does anyone have a working meter for my old AT-1 xmitter-or
has anyone ever tried to rewind the meter coil?
