[Heathkit] HW 100 audio amplifier

Other than the finals, the most often replaced tube for my rig is V14
6GW8. It is also the hottest (temp) as well as screen resistor R316
which I already changed to a 1W . The plate is running at max
300VDC(V14B)

What if I changed the screen resistor R316 to a 33K? Would gain suffer
too much?

The real root of the problem seems to me to be 124VAC at the outlet
which results in no-load PS voltages way too high.
B++ is 838V and B+ is 371, while FIL is 14.5VAC. Not much I can do
though.
