Greetings and hopes for a great New Year for all.
While testing some tubes today in my trusty SB200 I found some of the
switches to be kranky
and decided some Deoxit and Qtips were in order. One thing lead to another
and I went through
the amp and cleaned it etc. I was wondering about oiling the fan motor in
this amp. The fan runs
fine as far as I can tell and makes no noise but I was wondering about
periodic oiling. I see what
appear to be bearings on both sides of the motor shaft. They have a small
indent on them. Is this
the "oil port"? Or are these motors of a non lube variety? Or?? Thanks for
any help. 73 de K0AZ Mike
PS This amp has been setting for a while and not in service. I hope to have
the SB line and it on line
and running regularly in a couple weeks. The SB401 has a couple kinks that
need to be worked out
which I will do as time permits. The 301 receiver is all set to go.
