Hi Everyone-

I'm curious to know if any of you who restore older rigs, such as the HW101
and the Swan series of transceivers have ever found an effective way to
remove the corrosion-like "crud" that frequently shows up on the top
surfaces of metal chassis after many years of exposure to (presumably) damp
climates. I've seen it on both steel and aluminum chassis.

It's mostly just the top (i.e. horizontal) chassis surfaces where this stuff
accumulates; the undersides and vertical surfaces are often free of it.
Often at first glance, it looks to be just dirt, but frequently it takes a
LOT of polishing to make even a modest dent in it without tearing things up.

If anyone has ever found an effective way to get rid of such corrosion, I'd
appreciate hearing from you.

Tnx es 73.
