I picked up an SB-200 that looks pretty good at an estate sale for
next-to-nothing and would like advice on what to do and how to bring it up
before placing it into service. It'll get a thorough cleaning and inspection
(one of the parasitic chokes was never soldered!!!). I downloaded the manual
from BAMA:
ftp bama.sbc.edu/downloads/heath/sb200/ (thanks, BAMA!)
and have been searching the web for discussion, mods and retrofit kits.
Harbach Electronics looks like a great source for upgrades:
www.harbachelectronics.com/
Other great sites I've seen are:
www.palacenet.net/home/mules/sb200.html
www.fvh.accessus.net/~dwentz/heathkit/service_bulletins/heathkit-sb-sb200.tx
t
home.gci.net/~rnorgard/ampnotes.html

Anyway, advice/suggestions/help cheerfully accepted. BTW, the exciter will
be a TS-430S, an Astro-103, or someday when I get around to restoring it, an
HT-37.
