Just informing you that a new Zero Beat is hot of the digital press. A big
thanks to Gary Fields (WA1MOW) for his hard work. However he depends on you
for content so please keep Gary and HCRA in mind during your next project.

Zero Beat is available at

------------------

There will be a regular scheduled meeting this Friday at 7:30pm at the
Holyoke Medical Center's auxilary conference center. Our guest speaker will
be Jon Perelstein WB2RYV. Please see ZB for more information

------------------

This past weekend HCRA wrapped up its amateur radio license course. We've
been promoting it for the past 4 months and with mostly word-of-mouth
advertising, we had about 40 people sign up for the course. Little over
half the people stuck with it and we now have 13 new techs, 5 new generals,
1 new extra and 1 person who did both tech and general. The course had a
97% rate.

Thanks goes out to the following instructors and VE's who helped with the
exam

Jim Mullen - KK1W
Richard Wheeler - N1KXR
Nick Maslon - K1NZ
John Pise - Kx1x
Bob Meneguzzo - K1YO
Al Woodhull - N1AW

Kurt Dahdah - KU1RT
Bob McCormick - W1QA
Steve Rodowicz - N1SR

These people took the time to help at least a dozen people obtain their
license and also helped many people to upgrade. Without local volunteers,
we wouldn't have as many operators on the air. Please consider volunteering
in local events that are focused on amateur radio regardless of club
affiliation

------------------

See you at the meeting. If you know of anyone who is interested in Amateur
Radio, please bring them along to the meeting and invite them to Field Day.

Thanks,
Jeffrey Bail (NT1K)
HCRA President
