There will be a meeting this Friday, March 4th 2016 at the Holyoke Medical
Center's Auxiliary conference room. Our guest speaker will be Gary Thomas
(AA1UE) and he will be speaking about ISS and satellite communications.

On Saturday March 5th 2016 will be MTARA's annual ham fest. It will be
right in our back yard at the Moose Family Center in Chicopee MA. Doesn't
involve much driving and HCRA will have a table at the hamfest where you
can purchase TS-590SG Raffle Tickets. It's a fun time and it helps not only
support MTARA but local amateur radio. Let's have a strong presence at the
ham fest.

Communications Volunteers Needed: Westfield, Sunday 3/27

On Sunday, the Westfield Boys and Girls Club will be holding their annual
10k road race. The Greater Westfield Medical Reserve Corps/ CERT team has
been asked to provide Ham radio coverage throughout the course. If anyone
is interested in volunteering to help out, please email N1LWS at yahoo.com for
more information.


After the race all participants and volunteers are invited to have a free
meal provided by the Boys and Girls Club.

Once again the Swap & Sell table will be there, how exciting it is falls
entirely on the shoulders of you, our members. We know everyone has at
least ONE thing they probably should ?recycle? and the HCRA swap table is
the perfect place. No shipping, no eBay fees, supports the club, makes
meetings more interesting and is fun. Need I say more?

Before coming to our April 1st meeting why not take a look around the shack
and find an item or fifteen worthy of creating excitement in someone else?s
shack and bring it to the meeting.

Amateur Radio Classes

This month HCRA will be sponsoring amateur radio license classes for those
wishing to obtain and/or upgrade their license. The course will consist of
three classes on Wed April 27th, Thur 28th and all day Saturday on the
30th. The class will be followed by an exam.

So far we have almost 30 people signed up. Please spread the word to anyone
you feel that may be interested in obtaining their license. We encourage
 at home studying prior to the class so the time left to properly study is
getting thin.

Field Day

HCRA will be having Field Day at School Street Park in Agawam MA on the
weekend of June 25th 2016.  We will start setting up on Friday, June 24th.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!

We need people to help setup, operate, welcoming guests and help tearing
the setup down.

Please e-mail me (NT1K at NT1K.COM) if you are interested. There will be a
signup sheet at the next couple of meetings.
