From nt1k at nt1k.com Thu Dec 8 18:25:04 2016 From: nt1k at nt1k.com (Jeffrey Bail - NT1K) Date: Thu, 8 Dec 2016 18:25:04 -0500 Subject: [HCRA] ARRL 10m Contest This Weekend Message-ID: Hello, Just informing you that this weekend is the ARRL 10m Contest. HCRA usually participates as a club. If you have 10m capabilities, please set some time to participate. The solar cycle will be a challenge factor for sure, so we need everyone we can get on the air. Even if it's just for a couple hours. The exchange is simple. It will be an RS(T) and State. For Example: "Please copy 59 in Mike Alpha" If you do participate, please submit a log. If you are a club member, please include "Hampden County Radio Association" in the log file under club. I've made a grammar mistake in Zero Beat and I apologize. Do not use HCRA as there are other amateur radio clubs that have the same initials. Please look in your recent edition of Zero Beat for propagation For more information, rules, categories and log info, please visit the ARRL 10m page http://www.arrl.org/10-meter It should have all the information you need to get going in the contest. Hope to hear you on the air. NT1K will be on with the club call W1NY. Thanks, Jeffrey Bail President, Hampden County Radio Association From nt1k at nt1k.com Mon Dec 12 09:16:01 2016 From: nt1k at nt1k.com (Jeffrey Bail - NT1K) Date: Mon, 12 Dec 2016 09:16:01 -0500 Subject: [HCRA] 10m Contest - Please submit Scores/Soapbox Message-ID: Hello, The 10m contest is now over. Band conditions weren't the best but at times there were DX openings. There were many HCRA memebrs on the air. Hopefully everyone had a great time. If you participated and you are a HCRA member, we need your score summary and any soapbox comments. Please reply to this e-mail with the following Call Used: Callsigns and Names of operators: Class: See ARRL 10M Contest Rules Mode: SSB Only, CW Only, Mixed QSOs: total amount of contacts Mults: Multpliers Total: Total claimed score Soapbox: Paragraph (or more) about your experience If you by chance have any pictures you would like to be shared, please send them along as well. ARRL Accepts logs in Cabrillo format. Most logging software will allow for Cabrillo export. For N1MM/N1MM+ You can generate a Cabrillo file by going to the file menu and clicking "Generate Cabrillo File". N1MM will ask you a couple questions confirming your entry and will ask for a save location. N1MM will then offer to let you view the file. Click Yes and the raw log should appear. In the header of the log you will see the information about you and your station. Look for "Club:" within the header and if you are a HCRA member, please make sure it says "Hampden County Radio Association" next to it. Please do not use HCRA as there are other amateur radio clubs that also use HCRA. Look over the rest of the header to make sure everything else is correct. You have options to submit your logs, please visit the ARRL 10M contest website for detailed information http://www.arrl.org/10-meter HCRA has setup a web page for claimed scores and soapbox comments. It will be updated once information comes in. http://www.hcra.org/arrl-10m-2016/ Hope to see you at the next meeting on January 6th 2017 at Holyoke Medical Center. Guest speaker will be Rockwell Schrock (WW1X). He will be speaking about Remote Ham Radio (RHR).
