If you have items laying around the shack that you don't need or don't use, please consider donating them to HCRA to be sold at local hamfests or at HCRA events. The money raised from equipment donations will be used to keep HCRA running and to help cover the expenses of Field Day. It supports your club We're looking to fill the HCRA table for this weekends hamfest. If you have items to donate for the hamfest, you can bring them to the hamfest or to Friday's show and tell meeting at the Holyoke Medical Center's Auxilary conference room. We ask that the items are related to amateur radio and that they are in working order. We're also politely asking for no computers, computer monitors or printers as they consume quite a bit of space and are difficult to sell. Thank you very much. Message-ID: First off, We would like to thank everyone who purchased a ticket and those who help with promoting. The money raised from this raffle goes to help the HCRA and help fund future events such as field Day, classes, formal events and for promoting amateur radio around the county and beyond. After 9 months of promoting and even some begging, we've sold approximately 180 tickets. I wish everyone could be a winner but there could only be one. The person holding the winning ticket was Raymond Burk (WB1GLX). He purchased the winning ticket #136 while at the hamfest. http://www.hcra.org/2015/03/08/elecraft-kx3-winner-is/ Next month's meeting is scheduled for April 3rd, 2015. The speaker we've invited is Larry Palmer (NW1X), he will be talking about High Altitude Ballooning. It's really exciting to send a payload tens of thousands of feet up into the atmosphere. Hope to see you there! - Jeffrey Bail (NT1K) HCRA At-Large From nt1k at nt1k.com Tue Mar 31 08:23:01 2015 From: nt1k at nt1k.com (Jeffrey Bail - NT1K) Date: Tue, 31 Mar 2015 08:23:01 -0400 Subject: [HCRA] Meeting This Friday (April 3rd, 2015) / Field Day Message-ID: Just e-mailing you all as a reminder that there is an HCRA meeting taking place this Friday around 7:30pm at the Holyoke Medical Center's auxiliary conference center. This months speaker will be Larry Palmer (NW1X). He will be talking about high altitude ballooning. There are over 1,600 launches of high altitude balloons every day. These high altitude balloons are designed to carry scientific payloads to take a snapshot of the Earth?s upper atmosphere. They are also used in amateur radio by attaching transmitters which allow for tracking over the APRS network among other things. It should be a very interesting meeting For meeting location, please visit http://www.hcra.org/meeting-location/ ----- Field Day 2015 Even though Field Day is a few months away, it will be here before you know it. We're looking for volunteers to help with setup, tear-down, operators, information table and even band captains. Please visit our Field Day 2015 page for available positions. http://www.hcra.org/field-day/field-day-2015/ If you're interested in participating, please e-mail Jeffrey Bail (NT1K) at NT1K at arrl.net.
