Hello,

I've heard a lot of HCRA members in the ARRL 10M contest this past weekend.
It was great to make contact with you. Conditions this weekend were not the
best but it was still fun to get on the air.

You may already know but HCRA participates as a club in this contest.
Before sending in your logs, make sure "Hampden County Radio Assn" is
listed as your club in the cabrillo file or score summary sheet. You will
still get credit and points for the contest but you also help out HCRA's
club score.

We would also ask that you send your score summary and your soapbox
(comments about the contest) to scores at hcra.org . This will give us an idea
of what we did as a club as well as some content for the website.

-----------------------------
January Meeting

Due to the New Years Day holiday landing on a Friday, the meeting date has
been pushed to the following Friday on January 8th. Please take note.

Our guest speaker will be Jeffrey Jolie (NM1Y). He was part of the
DXpedition team that went to Navassa Island and operated as K1N. Navassa
was considered to be the 2nd most wanted DXpedition behind North Korea due
to the restricted access as a wildlife reserve. While there, Jeff and the
team managed to make just over 140,000 contacts. He will be speaking about
his adventure to Navassa.

We will be opening our doors to area clubs and to the general public. If
you know of anyone who would like to see this presentation, please invite
them along.

-------------
April Show and Tell

HCRA will be holding its annual show and tell on Friday April 1st. This is
not an April fools joke. If you have been working on an amateur radio
related project over the past year or so, bring it to the April meeting and
show it off to your fellow members. To make it more interesting, we will
have prizes that will go to the most popular entries. So if you haven't
started, now is the time!

Prizes available to members only.

ARRL Field Day

Didn't we just have a Field Day? It sure did feel that way but it's around
6 months away. We are currently looking for volunteers for the Field Day
committee, Band Captains as well a volunteers to help with setup, tear
down, publicity and the many other things that we will need as a club.

Thanks for reading,

73,
Jeffrey Bail (NT1K)

(Sorry if this went out twice)
