[HCRA] Meeting on Friday May First / NEQP / NEARfest

Just letting you know that there will be an HCRA meeting this upcoming
Friday at the Holyoke Medical Center. This month's speaker will be Steve
Dick (K1RF) talking about speaker design and considerations. Audio quality
makes a difference.

Just an FYI that the New England QSO party (NEQP) is also coming up next
weekend on May 2nd-3rd. This is an excellent contest for all those in
Hampden County as well as New England. It's more laid back compared the
bigger contests and we're the wanted stations

Did you know that HCRA sponsors a plaque for the single operator who comes
in first place in Hampden County? It's a really nice wooden plaque and it's
up for grabs for anyone that is within the county. Let's show the rest of
New England that Hampden County is active. I hope to see you on the air!!

will be HMD MA. Also note there is 7th area QSO party, Indiana QSO party
and Deleware QSO party happening during the same weekend. Loggers like N1MM
will also generate Logs for some of those contests.

Another thing taking place Friday and throughout the weekend is NEAR fest
(New England Amateur Radio Fest)  FKA Hosstraders in Deerfield NH. It's New
England's largest Ham Fest. It's an excellent event to find some deals on
gear as well as meeting up with area hams.
