For Sale:

The Hampden County Radio Association (http://www.hcra.org) has received a
generous donation from Charlie/N1IKD. The proceeds of the donation will be
split evenly between HCRA and the Community Foundation of Western
Massachusetts (http://www.communityfoundation.org/). I'm listing a few of
the items here with the hope they will end up in the shack of a local ham
who can make good use of them (and of course so shipping is less of a
problem). We're open to reasonable offers on them but please remember - all
of your purchase price goes to help both amateur radio and needy families in
Western Massachusetts.

Pictures of the items can be found at:
https://picasaweb.google.com/105866199455160495280/HCRADonations.

Items can be viewed and purchased at my home in Brimfield, MA. I'm good in
the callbook and have also listed my address and phone number at the bottom
of this message. I can also bring the items to the next HCRA meeting on
October 7th if that's convenient.

Yaesu FT-1000D HF Transceiver - $1500

This transceiver is in nearly new condition as you can see from the
pictures. It is the "D" model so it includes the TCXO, the dual bandpass
filter for the sub RX, and all filters that usually come with the D model.
It does not have the 250 Hz filter in the 455 kHz slot.

Serial # is OI 080058 and it was purchased new in 1991. It was sent back to
the factory in 1992 for installation of the updated ROM to make it
compatible with newer logging programs. It includes the operation manual,
documentation, power cord and the original double boxes. There is a great
review in the March 1991 QST.

As you can see from the photos the rig is in excellent condition - easily a
9 out of 10. I have put it on the air and everything works as it should.
Power output is 200W on all bands. The few blemishes are on the bottom and
left rear and wouldn't be visible in just about any ham radio shack. The
front panel and knobs are in perfect shape and the display is fine too. With
contest season just around the corner this rig would make a great primary or
second SO2R rig. Runs on 120VAC, just plug and play!

If you're serious about the rig please give me a call. You can come to my
shack in Brimfield, put it on the air and if satisfied take it home with
you. To be honest I've been fighting with myself not to buy it. For the age
of the rig the receiver performance is top notch and it is very easy to use.
I'm sorry but there is no microphone with the radio or matching speaker.
Charlie is a CW op, has downsized his shack and kept the speaker to use with
his other rig.

Cushcraft A4S with 40 meter add-on - $250

This antenna was taken down some years ago and stored in a garage. It is
100% complete and undamaged. It isn't new but there's no bent or broken
parts. It is missing one element end cap and a few of the trap covers are
split. Replacement parts are available from Chushcraft/MFJ. All hardware is
stainless steel.

As you can see from the pictures it is a big antenna. I went through all the
parts and re-bundled them by element so the next person can just lay it out,
set the element lengths for their desired band segment (CW, right?) and
stick it in the air before winter comes. It includes reprints of both
manuals. The antenna currently lists for $699 and the 40m add on is $199 on
the Cushcraft website.

It looks like the boom really doesn't want to come apart so I've left it at
its 18' length rather than damage it. You can pick up the antenna in
Brimfield, MA or I would be willing to drive a reasonable distance to
meet/drop off. (reasonable means say between Worcester and Springfield?).

--------------------------------------------------------------

Questions - just call or email and I'll be happy to answer them to the best
of my ability.

That's it - a couple of nice items to get you on the air in style for the
upcoming contest season.
