I hope it's okay to send this note to the list...not sure of the rules
on what can be posted.
But, I guess I'm going to part with my beloved SB-200 amplifier and
wanted to offer it locally before posting it on zed.
The amp has the Harbaugh soft-start and soft-key mods, a new relay, new
meter switch, almost new tubes and has been recapped earlier in its
life. I had some troubles with it and I had it gone over professionally
by K1MH a couple months back who pretty much reworked a lot of it to
bring it up to snuff and pulled the ALC on it. I paid $350 on ebay for
it and have put $200 mods/parts, $90 tubes and $350 (K1MH) into it.
But, now the HV is 2400 (on spec) and, wired for 120, it's loafing at
800-600 watts per band a bit less on 10M. You can jumper it for 220 and
get the full 1KW out of it if you want.
So, I ended up putting far more into this than I want for it and I do
hate to let it go. But, while it was being refurbished I ended up now
with 3 amps and, since I'm into 160M, this is the one that should go.
Anybody want to pick it up I'll let it go for $400. This is no ebay
junker deal...it has already been fully refurbished and modernized and
will work great for years to come at a third of the price of anything in
it's class...and, with the ol' Heathkit manual it's an amp you can work
on if anything ever does go wrong.
