Once again HCRA members come through and now we have not one, but two PC's
for Al to use in the VHF station. That's good and gives us a spare if
something unforeseen should happen. Thanks George/KC1V and Tuc/N1QFT for
your generosity.

While I have everyone's attention do you realize Field Day is only four days
away. Plans are coming together nicely, the weather should be OK and
propagation (sunspots) should be good. I hope you have set aside some time
to come out to Dufresne Park and visit, operate or whatever - most of all to
help show the general public the important service amateur operators provide
in times of emergency.

So lets not be so quiet out there! We're still looking for some help with
food and also some idea of what you may be bringing to augment Jim's fine
menu. Why not whip up a nice salad or dessert and bring it along. Please -
post what you're doing to the list/facebook so we all know what's going on.

Where's all the traffic handlers out there? We're in need of someone to
generate NTS messages and originate a message to the Section Manager. I know
a lot of you are good at traffic handling, why are you sitting back and
letting someone else do it (or not do it as the case may be). Isn't this
what emcomm is all about?

We can always use more help with setup & especially tear down. If you're
good with tools and enjoy mechanical challenges this is the spot for you.
And it's probably the most fun too. Where else can you get to play with
stuff (towers, beams, networking) you probably don't have at home?

Dozens of people have been working tirelessly for months planning and
organizing this event. Now's your chance to participate - don't miss out and
have to wait until next year. Talk it up on the air, drop some emails to the
list or a posting or two on facebook. You don't want to be an 'armchair
amateur' do you?

Don't forget - free food for members and a guest and the Field Day raffle
will be drawn Sunday at 2:00 PM.

Don't despair, get out of your chair and be there!

Jim/KK1W
