Hey folks, free food once again at Field Day!
Jim/NN1Y will be cooking up a storm once again this year, aided by
Dave/KB1VPM. Once again HCRA is providing food for our members and one guest
and this year that includes breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday as well
as breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
Jim has created a delicious sounding menu. Read all the details on our
website at: http://www.hcra.org/menu.htm
To make it even better please consider bringing out a salad, veggie platter
or dessert item to add to the fun. Everything is welcome but if you do why
not drop a note to the mailing list or the facebook page so we can avoid
duplication if at all possible. But then again, can we have too many
chocolate chip cookies?
Just like last year there will be donation buckets available for those of us
that would like to offset some of the food costs. And of course don't forget
about the Field Day raffle. This year the winner gets their choice of either
an FT1900 mobile rig or a Wouxun HT. All for a measly donation of $5
(5/$20). Only 75 tickets will be sold so your chances of winning are pretty
decent. Tickets are going fast so don't miss out - buy them early on Field
Day before they're all gone.
We're going to have a GREAT Field Day this year - mark your calendar and
don't let anything pull you away from the fun. This weekend will be a great
opportunity to showcase amateur radio and inform the public of our
importance during a disaster or emergency. Once again just last week ham
radio operators showed their skills during the June 1st tornado outbreak.
Join us for Field Day and hone your skills - just in case they are needed in
the future.
