Merry Christmas!
Santa was good here...BUT, that means I need to clear out some shack
space and finally let another rig pass to new hands. So, I have a really
nice condition heathkit AM/CW station to find a home for and will let it
go for a fraction of worth if local.
SB-301 Receiver 8-9 of 10 cosmetic, well built, WITH filters, tuning mod
to edge friction (solves the old heathkit SB slipping VFO issues)...in
short, great rig.
DX-40 Transmitter would be 8-9 of 10 but cabinet back has been repainted
(good job, gray shade very slightly darker than original) even includes
back door that is so often missing. Also, recapped, retubed, works great
full out and had enough kick to work Australia on 20M recently. Nice set
of CW xtals for SKCC frequencies and more (3.530, 7.025, 7.114, 7.075
and multiples thereof). Stable and chirp goes away after a good 15
minute warm up (infamous you tube videos showing chicken squawk on the
DX-40 are from folks not warming them up - this guy rocks after warming
up). AM works great but does not come with mic.
Comes with VF-1 VFO working well on all bands (40 meters works best on
the lower switch setting for 40 meters but works on all bands). Again
retubed and in great pristine shape.
Tubes pulled from DX-40 and VF-1 are included as spares.
I'll let the whole station go for $225 (cost me almost that much just
for the filters, xtals and tubes) to avoid the hassle of shipping and
because I'd prefer to keep it local...pick up in Amherst.
