Jim,
There was a interesting talk at the YCCC meeting last weekend about a new
org, "CWops." www.cwops.org
Their motivation is keeping CW going and improving speed. Toward that end
they have formed "CW Academy." The plan is to match CW speed from a teacher
to a student on the air for practice. Someone asked, and even a beginner
with a license is acceptable. The reason for the license is practice is on
the air.
I believe W1RM gave the talk. You might check that out. (Stoopid of me not
to remember)
If you do get something going on 10, I know another who might like to join
in. This guy was a CW op in Uncle Sam's finest, but left Army code school
50 years and 7 weeks ago. Time takes it's toll.

Doug,
I'd be happy to try but I'm not the one to coach on 'etiquette' on CW - most
of my QSO's over the past years have been in contests. Maybe if we get a few
emails going back and forth someone more skilled than I will step up and
offer to help?
I think 40 meters is a good bet but if you have a 10 meter antenna that may
work too - especially at night. 40 meters gets pretty long in the evening
and there is a lot of activity.
What days/times work well for you?
