[HCRA] Next meeting October 1st!

Hey gang,

The October Zero Beat has hit the streets (
http://www.hcra.org/zerobeat/oct10.pdf) and is just full of good articles
and pictures of HCRA happenings over the last month. If the dog ate your
email you can click the preceding link and see what you missed!

This Friday's meeting will feature Tom Homewood, W1TO. Tom is visiting from
YCCC (the Yankee Clipper Contest Club) and chatting with us about the W1QSL
bureau, YCCC and its role in contesting, the upcoming WRTC in 2014 and much
more. Tonight's meeting will also be an official YCCC meeting so you may
join them for even more fun in radiosport this coming season.

Also this Friday we will be 'passing the hat' for a memorial donation in
honor of Jim Whitehouse, K1JAW. Jim was an active member of HCRA as well as
a former board member, an avid QRP'er, Field Day participant, advocate for
kit building and loved portable operation. His untimely passing leaves a gap
in all our lives but we can keep his name/call alive with a small donation.
All proceeds collected will be given to the ARRL Foundation in Jim's name.
If you can't make the October 1st meeting you can drop your gift in the mail
to the clubs PO box. Thanks for helping amateur radio in Jim's memory.

Last, and it really is LAST, is this is your final chance to get in the
drawing for the Yaesu HT. If you haven't joined or renewed your HCRA
membership yet you have until the end of the evening to "get 'er done" and
be in the running for a nice HT. The lucky winner will be pulled at the
close of Friday's meeting.

As always, coffee, donuts and the best group of hams this side of the
Mississippi River!
