[HCRA] White elephant swap Friday (re-formatted)

Your HCRA is sponsoring a "White Elephant Swap" before the next meeting 
on April 2nd.  What is a "White Elephant Swap" you say? . . Well, we 
all have "stuff" that is too valuable to throw away, and too valueless 
to sell and so it just collects dust taking up valuable space in our 
shack.  So, we (your board of directors) thought it might be nice to 
move some "stuff" around to where it could get some use.  It is easy.  
You bring some "stuff" that you would like to see someone get some use 
out of; and look to see if there might be something that you might need 
or want.  And, do not feel obligated to take something because you 
brought something that someone needed.  Just feel good!

The club will have a donation box for anyone who takes something, or if 
you just want to support the club anonymously. If you feel that you 
want to put a value on your item, please do so but it is solely at your 
descretion. Donations will be on the honor system.

If no one wants an item by the time the raffle prize is drawn, the club 
will select some "stuff" for the following meeting. This "stuff" will 
be added to the "stuff" that might be brought in May.  Kinda like a 
second chance for the misfit "stuff".  The remaining "stuff", we will 
ask that you bring home with you.

Here is some "stuff" that I will be bringing:  ARRL Low Power 
Communications book in new condition, a baggie of hookup wire and slide 
switches, a good micrometer that I never use, a mag mount antenna if I 
can find all of the pieces,  and I have not begun to look around yet.  
(No, my K1 will not be showing up - haha).  I do know that others will 
also be bringing "stuff",  but I am not going to let you know 
everything; you'll just have to come and see.  This is not the venue to 
sell your expensive "stuff"; hold onto that "stuff" for the tailgate 
party in June.  This "White Elephant Swap" is to share with others,  
make a few sheckles for the club, and have some fun.  Who knows? Your 
pile of "stuff" may turn into a pile of gold when you find that 
something that you have been looking for or need  ..  Look forward to 
seeing you on April 2nd!
