THe one big disatvantage with Yahoo groups is; If you don't spend the time to either set the 'WHO IS ALLOWED" TO jOIN & POST SEVERLY TIGHT, YOU WILL GET ALLOT OF spam. i KNOW AS i HAVE HAD & JOINED MANY FOR SEVERAL FOR YRS.

Greetings all,

As a list owner for a number of years on Yahoo! Groups, I must admit I enjoy it, and so do my list members. It's easy to use, stores messages in an "open arcive" format and has several levels of message retrieval available. Plus it plugs into the Yahoo network, which many people are already on. If the club would like, I would start and run the http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HCRA. It's very simple.

Come visit the sites I have, to see what I'm taking about:
On Yahoo! Groups:
WMAR - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WesternMassAmateurRadio
NEARCOM - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nearcom
ma-dstar - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ma-dstar

On Facebook I run several groups that mirror and complement the Yahoo! Groups, as well as several "Fan Page(s)".
WMAR - http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/group.php?gid=170078781476&ref=ts
NEARCOM - http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=104407634820&ref=ts
Franklin/Hampshire County Scanning -http://www.facebook.com/pages/FranklinHampshire-County-Scanning/227852573066

If help is needed, I'd be happy to lend a hand in administrating the club's Facebook page and/or fan page.
