Hey folks,

It was a real pleasure to see so many entries at Show & Tell last Friday. A
lot of unique cutting edge technology was shown off for all to see.

A lot of the kits have active components that can be sensitive to static
electricity during the build process. Many of the kit manufacturers
recommend static mats and wrist straps. These tend to be expensive, with the
cheapest ending up in the $75 range. I did a little web mining today and
came up with these from Robotshop. The price is reasonable and for amateurs
(that's us!) should work just fine: Here's the links to the two items:

For a little over $20 you can have static protection for your building fun.

The usual disclaimers apply including the fact I have never bought from
them, only that the product should work and the price is reasonable. If
anyone knows of some other choices please forward them along.

Let's continue to make this list a resource for all its members. By doing so
we will help everyone get more enjoyment from their hobby.

'73.

Jim
