OK folks, the wait is over and the scores (as submitted to ARRL) are out.
Fire up your PC or other web browsing appliance and mosey on over to:
http://www.hcra.org/fd2010.htm and see how well we did this year!
Propagation was nothing special once again and the score pretty much
reflects as much. Over the last three years our scores have been right
around the same mark. One of these years the sunspots will be back and QSO's
will be flying.
A big thank you to everyone involved in all aspects of this huge operation.
It takes a lot of work, both mental and physical, to coordinate, setup and
operate a Field Day exercise of this magnitude. The logistics of antennas,
power, housing, food, setup, teardown and all the things in between just
don't happen by themselves. It is a credit to HCRA and the members we are
able to accomplish this, year after year, with less help than the year
before. It seems the new workplace ethic of 'do more with less' has filtered
down to our club too! Let's try to reverse that for next year.
If you were unable to join the fun this year don't despair. We'll be doing
it again next year on June 25th and 26th. There may be changes, maybe not
it's all up to you, the HCRA members. Not to worry, let's just play radio
and have some fun.
Thanks everyone for the support of the Field Day raffle and congratulations
to this year's winner Ernie, K1EJB who went home with a new Yaesu 2M mobile
and antenna.
Stay tuned to the HCRA website for more photos and comments about FD 2010 as
they come in.
'73.
