1. What one thing at FD 2011 really made the biggest impact on your fun
over the weekend? The HCRA has a bunch of uniquely talented and hilariously
funny radio "nuts" that are fun to hang out with and play radio. FD
concentrates them in one place for a whole weekend.
2. If you could what one thing would you change/add for Field Day 2011?
Field Day doesn't need any changes just more participants. Life is short,
you can't play radio in a pine box. If we are still breathing, we can still,
no matter what physical difficulties we may have, become more involved in
the hobby and HCRA activities including field day planning, preparation and
operation. People may even find that activity creates just enough
distraction to take their mind off of whatever problems have been plaguing
them and fun happens.

Oh on, not another survey!
As most of you are aware Field Day was this past weekend. Once again we
mounted a pretty impressive operation, seven transmitters, a solar station,
a VHF station, great food (and free too) and lots more. Now that its all
over I'm asking for just a 'little bit' more work.
It is important we understand how things went so we can strive for continual
improvement with our Field Day efforts. To that end we're just asking two
simple questions. If you could take the time to respond it will really help
us make FD 2011 even better than this year.
If you participated in Field Day could you respond with an answer to these
two questions?
1. What one thing at FD 2011 really made the biggest impact on your fun
over the weekend?
2. If you could what one thing would you change/add for Field Day 2011?
If you didn't participate in Field Day this year (or any other year for that
matter) your job is even easier - you get only one question:
1. What would Field Day have to look like to encourage your
participation?
That's it - easy enough? Please take a moment to consider your answers to
these few questions. Field Day is by far the most complex and difficult
operation HCRA does every year. It takes significant financial and member
support. We really need to know what can be done to improve it for our
present participants and understand what needs to be done to increase
participation. Your answers will really help with these decisions.
Thanks to everyone for your support. Whether on site or not we know you're
behind us all the way.
