And a perfect evening it will be, just enough light, white flakes to get us
in the mood for a great presentation on weather and amateur radio. Certainly
not enough to stop a real amateur from going to a meeting!

 

Seriously, this Friday is our first meeting of the New Year. To kick 2010
off right we have scheduled a presentation with Rob Macedo, KD1CY. Many of
you know Rob through his efforts and successes over the years to pull
together ham radio and the National Weather Service. And success he has had,
with a New England Skywarn group that is made up almost 50% by amateur radio
operators. Rob will be talking about the value of hams to NWS, upcoming
Skywarn training classes and of course a discussion of weather 'big events'
of 2009. Rob, along with Ray, KA1JJM and Eric, N1QKO will be on hand after
the meeting to answer your inquiries and help get you involved for 2010.

 

Going along with the weather theme will be a nice raffle prize of a Midland
WR-100 All Hazards weather radio and a few other nice prizes. Coffee, donuts
and great company as well. Come on down and bring a relative or friend.
Everyone is always welcome at our meetings and tonight's subject has broad
appeal to everyone.
