[HCRA] HCRA Member wins Rookie Roundup for the W1 area!

Rockin' Rookies Batman, did you know W1MSW won Rookie Roundup?

 

That's right, one of HCRA's newest members has walked away with First Place
in the W1 call area. Matt, W1MSW had the highest score in the W1 call area
in ARRL's first running of Rookie Roundup this past Sunday. Matt will be
able to download a nice certificate for his efforts.

 

Even more exciting is W1MSW finished second in the entire contest, narrowly
losing first place to W0ANT by less than 500 points. You can see all the

Many thanks to any of the non-rookie ops out there that participated and
made this first attempt at a new contest a hot bed of activity on HF. If you
missed your chance to hand out some contacts to some Rookie's there will be
another running of the contest on August 15th. It's a lot of fun and the
impact of us "OF's" (Old F at rts) really makes a difference. The whole idea
here is to create an opportunity for new licensees to get over the hump of
HF operation -and it did that very well. Many thanks to Sean, KX9X at ARRL
for creating this new operating event/contest.
