[HCRA] WMVET and the ARRL web site

Good morning all, I hope you can stay dry this weekend.

I was excited to hear the ARRL had spent time performing a major rework on
their web site. Reviewing this I see they have ordered information a bit
differently. You will need to search around for your favorite topic area a
little, but nothing to severe. You should find this new experience very
pleasing.

One thing I do want to point out is the information in the "Find an Exam"
section located under "Licensing, Education &Training". There is a small
problem the ARRL IT team is working on that shows all upcoming exam sessions
as "Walk-In Only".

I want to assure everyone looking to take an exam at the WMVET (Western Mass
VE Team) session next Friday (and this goes for all future sessions) that we
do take walk-ins. I do like to hear from you if you are planning to come by
so we can plan accordingly, however this is not a requirement. If you are
feeling the urge to upgrade, just stop on by.

Our next session will be April 23'rd 2010 at 6:00pm. The location is the
Holyoke Hospital Auditorium, 575 Beech St, Holyoke MA. See you there.

p.s. below is the feedback from the league regarding the database issue they
are currently having:

Hi David, W1FAB -

Thank you for the contact, and mutual concern.

We are aware of the issues with the exam session search page on the new web
site.

Our IT department has been alerted to the inaccuracies and is working on
coding and programming fixes.

Unfortunately, all future exam listings will read "no walk ins" and some
contact information will be missing or be incorrect until our programmers
find a solution to the problem.

In the meantime, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, your
team or your examinees during this difficult and complicated transitional
time.
