Hey gang!
The October version of Zero Beat is available on our web site. Point your
browser to: http://www.hcra.org/zerobeat/oct09.pdf and enjoy eleven pages of
HCRA and ham radio. Larry has once again done a fine job of keeping our
members up to date on everything radio related in the valley.
Starting this month we are only publishing the full Zero Beat edition
electronically. The few of our members getting their Zero Beat via USPS will
be receiving an abbreviated edition, in color. If a friend of yours falls
into this category maybe you could print a copy for him or her? We at HCRA
are trying hard to keep costs down but still keep everyone informed. Thanks
for helping out!
This Friday's guest speaker is Mike Raisbeck, K1TWF. Mike is the Vice
Director for ARRL's New England Division. K1TWF will be probing deeper into
the attempts of commercial entities to take advantage of our 'amateur'
status and hopes to hold a 'round table' conversation with everyone at the
meeting. Mike is looking to get feedback about what is really important to
amateurs in the New England Division so he can relay your thoughts to Tom
Frenaye and the ARRL. It should prove to be an interesting evening.
Also this Friday is your last chance to renew/join HCRA and be a possible
winner of an HCRA Jacket and Cap for your efforts. A $50, yours for free,
just by helping us out and renewing on time. Cool, eh?
And of course next month is our annual Auction - are you ready for some fun!
'73 and see you Friday,
Jim, KK1W
